Marisa Jackson

Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt

Marisa Jackson is a wife, mother of three boys, artist, and passionate advocate for children with disabilities. A proud West Virginian, she is a Tamarack artist and a graduate of Marshall University and West Virginia University, where she studied Fine Arts and later earned her MBA. Her personal experiences as a mother shape much of her work and advocacy. Her son Maxwell lives with the rare neurological condition FOXG1 Syndrome, and her son Luca is on the autism spectrum. Through her art and outreach, Marisa helps raise awareness while celebrating the unique abilities of children with disabilities.

Marisa is the owner of MarisaMade Illustration and Design, where she creates colorful illustrations and products that have been sold nationwide. She also collaborated as the illustrator of the children’s book Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt, bringing Charleston’s landmarks and the story’s adventure to life through her artwork.

Her son Luca Jackson, who has loved drawing his whole life and hopes to become a 3D animator, has illustrations featured in Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt on pages 8 and 21, making the project a special collaboration that celebrates creativity across generations
