Andy Richardson
Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt
Andy Richardson is a lifelong Charleston resident whose career reflects a deep commitment to serving the Charleston, West Virginia community. A lawyer by profession, he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from West Virginia University. He has served on the City Council in both Charleston and South Charleston and later as a member of the cabinet of the State of West Virginia. He is also the owner of The Andy Richardson Group.
Passionate about preserving and sharing the stories that shape West Virginia’s communities, Andy founded StoryFinders Publishing in 2025 and collaborated on the children’s book Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt. Through both his civic work and his storytelling, Andy continues to champion the people, culture, and heritage that make Charleston such a special place to call home.

Emma Carpenter
Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt
Emma Carpenter is an interior design student at Auburn University and a proud Charleston, West Virginia native. She manages the Instagram blog emmacarpenter304, where she shares stories and architecture from across West Virginia, and authored the self-guided audio walking tour Art and Architecture in the Downtown Charleston Historic District. Emma previously served as president of the Charleston Youth City Council and plans to pursue an advanced degree after graduating from Auburn. Eventually, she plans to return to Charleston to establish her own design practice.
Emma collaborated on the children’s book Our Charlie West Treasure Hunt and currently manages the marketing and social media for StoryFinders Publishing, helping share the organization’s mission and connect local stories with a wider audience.
